A Memorable Christmas

I loved that Christmas was on Sunday this year. I didn't think I was going to like it. I thought it was going to be such a bother. It was the only day of the year that I will be glad that we have 8:00 church. That was helpful. We had explained to the children before hand that we would open presents after church. It was also helpful that church was only about an hour. My Aunt Patty was asked to speak. I was nervous for her. She did a great job though. I was asked to give the closing prayer. It was somehow nice to publicly give thanks for so many wonderful things on a beautiful Christmas morning. I cried a little. I couldn't help it. I am emotional. :) Then we came home to our blessed home and had a magical Christmas morning. We ate homemade cinnamon rolls and drank hot chocolate with homemade whipped cream. We opened so many presents. My kids were so excited. They squealed and laughed and jumped up and down. Magical!!!! In the evening we had our in town family over. Dwight's brother and nephew and their little families. We ate Mexican food. We walked to the park and played basketball and played on the playground. It was a great day.
 My beautiful little girls!!!

 I love these kiddos!

Gracie asked Santa for a ping pong table. I can't believe she got it!!!! We have had so much fun!!!
We bought our tree right after Thanksgiving. It was really dead by Christmas morning. Look at all those presents.
The ping pong table wrapped up. It took Dwight almost 3 hours to put it together.

They had a few shared gifts. This one is the X Box Kinnect from Mommy and Daddy. That was a big choice for us. We said we would never have video games. But, as the kids get bigger and they don't want toys we felt like it would be an exciting gift for them. It has been great family fun. The girls and I love to play Just Dance. The Disney Universe game is one of our favorites too.

Savannah was so excited about everything. I love her reactions. She asked Santa for a video camera. She has been taking that thing everywhere. I will have to post some of her videos soon.

 Can you say excited???

When they had gifts to open together they would count to three first and then start ripping them open.

Bear's face in this is classic with his mismatched pajamas that are too small for him and so many missing teeth. By the way, those are not the pajamas I put him to bed in. When we came home from church the kiddos went and changed back in to their jammies. Bear had slept too soundly to wear his again. :) Gunnar wore his Lightning McQueen costume because he asked for a lot of Lightning McQueen presents.
 I love those blonde heads.

There I am in the background with the trash bag. My job was collecting trash as they opened.

Bear kept doing thumbs down. I finally asked him why and he said, "Oh I forgot, I'm supposed to do thumbs up." :)

 That's a big gun.

The password journal so her brothers can't look at what she writes.

 Doesn't Savannah have great hair?!?
Joe and Lauren got my mom a beautiful blanket with their family picture on it. She loves it.

So, we had a wonderful, very blessed Christmas this year. I am happy I made it through and am really excited for New Year's Eve. We get to do fireworks!!!! They are legal here in Gilbert on New Year's Eve and New Year's day. There are tons of tented booths around town selling crazy amounts of fireworks. Yay!!! We love you all and hope you and yours had a very Merry Christmas!!!!
