I remember sitting in sacrament meeting as a little girl with our little family. A lot of the time my dad sat on the stand. He was the executive secretary for a long time and had the job of counting how many people attended the meeting. When he did sit with us though Joe and I would sit on either side of him. He would fall asleep every week. Joe and I would look over at each other and count to three. Then we would both elbow him ever so gently in the tummy to wake him up. :) What a happy memory. I also remember sitting next to my mom and holding her hand. I would run my fingers along her veins. She has the kind of veins in her hands that are raised. They move around when you touch them. I was fascinated by it. She would tell me it meant she was royal. :) I still don't quite get that.
She had surgery earlier this week. She has some growths in her cervix and uterus. The doctors removed them and we are now in the waiting process to find out if they are cancer or not. Being a breast cancer survivor, it is never good when there is any type of growth anywhere. My mom did great in her surgery. It took a little longer than they expected because the growths were larger than they expected from the ultrasounds. But she is such a trooper and is recovering so nicely. We have her follow up appointment this coming up Thursday. So, until then we pray and wait and wait and pray. I love my mom.
