Out with the Hubby

On New Year's Eve Eve Dwight and I went out on date night. One of the many perks of working for Insight were free tickets for the Insight Bowl. Dwight got really lucky and we got great seats!!!! We were 8 rows up. Before the game started the marching bands performed. That was really fun. My band geek husband loved it. They were pretty good. I especially like the twirlers.

The Wings of Blue parachute team from the Air Force Academy parachuted right on to the field. That was amazing!!!!! The last one carried the American flag. I loved it. It was so exciting.

See how close we are to the field.
The game was between Iowa and Oklahoma. Our seats happened to be on the Oklahoma side. So we conformed :). I was okay with that since they were predicted to win and I like cheering for the winning team. There were so many fans. I think a lot of them were family members of the team and the band and cheerleaders. They were enthusiastic and passionate about the team. It created a really fun atmosphere. The picture above is the Oklahoma mascot Boomer.
The cheerleaders were right in front of us. That was really fun. I liked watching them. We stayed until just after half time. It was really crowded and difficult driving in and finding a parking spot. We had quite a trek back to the car and didn't want to struggle with the crowd again. It was a great time though. It made me feel young. Great way to end the year. I love date night with the hubby and I'm so thankful to share my life with him. :)
