Crazy Train

For my first post, I figured I'd give a little insight into the world I live in. Each day I get to sit between a guy from the mid east and an America bashing, short sighted pessimist. What a great morning I had today( sarcasm ). I got to listen to to every word of an America blasting, Bush hating, Jewish people rule the world rant by these two men ( I almost wrote gentlemen, but thought better of it). Oh how grateful I am to have the world view that I do. If I were on the fence, I might buy into all this, and right now I'd be moving to china. Of all things the one guy said China is less communist than the US. At that point I just walked away. If this guy only knew what he sounded like... I just could not believe it.

So as you can see, my blog posts will be somewhat different than Robyn's. But, I really felt the need to get this off my chest.

I have to say I am grateful to live in the USA. It is truly the land of opportunity and freedom. From time to time our nation faces struggles, and times of strife. In the past we have been able to pull out of it. Mostly because of the will of the people, and their belief in the idea of the American dream. I hope that in the next year we can stop the pessimistic views that are forever propagated by the simple minded, the power searching, and the short sighted people who think they are more enlightened than those of us who still have hope for a brighter day.

I believe that Ronald Reagan had the right idea. In his eyes America was the shining city on the hill, and I know it still is. There is hope and opportunity, But those who wish to have power no longer spread that message. Instead it is easier to gain political force by telling people how bad they have it. What a back words way of leading. I call it slowly but surely dragging those who follow down a dark path that leads to sorrow. I choose to believe , I choose to know that I have great freedom, the freedom to worship, the freedom to speak, the freedom to educate myself, and the freedom to raise my family in a country that does not tell me how many kids I can have. Let's see somebody in China tell you that with out a gun to their head.
