I just wanted to somehow honor and remember our beloved prophet. When I told my kids this morning that he passed away they were so sweet. Gracie said that he is her favorite prophet ever. I had the huge privelege of being at the tabernacle for the general conference when we sustained him as our new prophet. I was a laurel at the time and our bishop took us for a priest/laurel trip to Utah. We slept outside on the sidewalk of temple square the night before so that we could be first in line. I still remember how impacted I was. There were a lot of anti mormons there in the morning. They had pamphlets and were saying horrible things about our people and our beliefs. I was so sad. I remember being so tired. We sat up high in the wooden benches. When President Hinkley walked in the room everyone stood up and the spirit was so strong. I was so excited to be able to raise my hand and sustain him as our new prophet with him right there as if he could see me or something. I love how he was funny and cute. We will miss him. Later tonight: Tonight for family home evening we watched the life of the prophet on BYU t.v. Then for our lesson Dwight asked our kids if they knew what happened to us after we died. Our sweet Gracie said "Well Dad when we die our spirits go to the spirit world, our body is no longer alive. But our body and our spirits will come back together again and we will live with Heavenly Father." I love the simplicity of the gospel. I love that my six year old daughter has such a great understanding of the plan of life. We are so blessed.
BYU t.v. showed that the funeral will be on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. MT.
