The mother of a toddler must be keen, wise and on top of things without a beat ever missed. So around this age, (almost 18 months or a little earlier) with all of my children, there is some sort of transformation that takes place. From sweet and innocent infant to terrible toddler. With all of them in the moment I have said that they are the worst. Gracie got into everything. She would pull out all of the DVD's, the pots and pans, and clothes from drawers. Her mission was to misplace and relocate anything and everything she could get her hands on. She was also a really bad tantrum thrower. So embarrassing. Savannah had no fear. She would always run away from me. She escaped out of our house twice. Once the neighbor brought her back and the next time we found her in another neighbors garage. Sooo scary. Hence the baby locks on our doors that everyone is so fond of. She hung herself while we were on vacation in Palm Springs on the cord hanging from the umbrella by the pool. That replays in my mind sometimes. Probably, my scariest moment in life. Bear, arguably the worst toddler of all time. He climbed on everything. One time I found him on top of our refrigerator. Another time I found him on top of the kitchen counter climbing into the cabinet, holding onto the wooden block of knives on the very top shelf in the cabinet. Can you picture 6 very big knives falling onto my toddler. Luckily, I got him in the nick of time. He was also a very messy toddler. I won't even go there as to protect his future interests. Gunnar, now my current toddler is trying to out do the three before him. He throw tantrums, has no fear, and climbs like crazy. So he has a little piece of all three before him. He though, unlike the others has a horrible temper. He is my first biter and pincher. No fun. Luckily so far, we haven't had any dangerous moments though, and so far he is not as messy as Bear. So I will count my blessings and knock on wood. He really is hard to get mad at. Those big blue eyes and dimples. Lucky for him he's so cute.
