Hip Hip Hurray, It's Church Day!
Sundays are really crazy days for us. I definitely wouldn't describe it as a day of rest. Dwight has to be at the church by 8:00, so I'm on my own with the kids. I always tell them first thing in the morning, "hip hip hurry, it's church day." So they all say that now. Bear lately isn't very excited about church. Way too much sitting still for him. He says,"no mommy, no, not hip hip hurray church day. i stay home." So I just try to be really positive and encourage him to be happy. I've gotten a Sunday routine down. It takes two hours for me to get all four kids ready and myself ready. I try really hard to have all their clothes ready the night before and to find their tights and socks and shoes and get our book bag together. My three bigger kids all have their own scripture bags. Our sunbeam teacher sewed Savannah a Nemo bag last year and Bear a Spider Man bag this year. They are so cute and have made the kids excited about taking their scriptures. They are already in the habit of taking their scriptures to church, I love that. We hope that if we make a habit of things early that it will make it easier as our kids gets older. Our boys wear a white shirt to church every Sunday. Even baby Gunnar. We want them from a young age to know that that's what they wear to church. So yesterday, Dwight went to church early and we followed at normal time 11:00. (thanks goodness it's not 8:30 this year). Dwight is really busy during church and Gunnar won't stay in nursery, so that three hour block is really busy for me and can be brutal. I had BYC right after the block. Then my visiting teachers came. Then I had to rush off to a Stake Meeting at 5:00. I got home around 7:00. Before I knew it, it was bed time for the kids and the day was done. I'm thankful for the oppurtunities that Dwight and I have to serve. I hope that our kids will learn from our service. I know that our family is blessed for it. We are so blessed to have the gospel in our lives.
