So yesterday moring my kids ran into the kitchen to tell me that it was raining. They were so excited because we've had very little rain this year and early this week it was 104. We thought summer was here. So I let them go outside and feel the rain and taste the rain and be Southern California kids, excited to see some rain. Really funny. Well later that day, the rain seemed to just keep getting stronger and stronger. It started to hail and get really windy. There was even snow. We had a major thunderstorm and tornado. About 4 or 5 miles away from our house along the 215 freeway a tornado swept across the freeway. It knocked over some train cars and then went onto the freeway and knocked over a semi-truck. What a mess. Gracie worries about natural disasters and is constantly asking me if they're going to happen at our house and I am constantly telling her no. Well here we are in Perris California, with thunderstorms, flash floods, snow, and a tornado. What is the deal? I can only attribute it to the craziness of the Last Days. What else will come? A little scary. I hadn't put anything out for dinner and so I asked Dwight to just call and get some pizza delivered. The pizza place was closed. So I had to come up with something for dinner. Dwight made his dad's barbeque rice thing. But, I started to think about it. If today, we had a major natural disaster and everything closed. We would be living on top ramen. We have very little food storage and we live week to week on groceries. We have a water barrel in the garage with no water in it. We need to work on our food storage. Here is the freeway, just miles from our home. Rain, sleet, and snow. Tornado! The train derailed by the tornado. The kids in the rain. Bear and Savannah are the same height. Gracie is just a few inches taller than them. The view from our backyard. I've been afraid that the dam will break and Lake Perris will be in our backyard. We'll be floating on top of our house. I'm also afraid of earthquakes, we are so over due. Tornados though, I wasn't worried about that, that doesn't happen in Cali (or so I thought).
