Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to my sweet mom. I was blessed to have been born into a wonderful and loving home. My mom taught me the gospel not only through her words but through her actions. She is a woman of faith and obedience. She accomplished great things. She was an outstanding softball player and traveled all over the world playing softball. She was a great scouter and one of the few women to get her Wood Badge. (I think that's what it's called). She always encouraged us in school and sports and was always there for us. I'm so thankful for my sweet mom.

I am also thankful to be a mom. It has been trully the most defining experience in my life. At this point in life, it consumes me. I am so thankful to have great kids.

Gracie is so 6 going of 26. She understands things beyond her age. She is thoughtful and very much a pleaser. She is very spiritual. She loves her Heavenly Father. She bears her testimony every month. She cries when we read scriptures or have family home evening, and says "I'm not crying because I'm sad, I'm crying because I'm happy." She has learned to discern the spirit. She is very spiritually mature. Right now she wants to be a fasion designer when she grows up. She is beautiful and I love to be her mom.

Savannah is 4 and totally 4 in every way. Almost 5. She loves to play dress up, to play with her toys, and to play make believe. She looks up to Gracie. She is kind and accepting of everyone. She loves her friends. She loves her hair. She changes her clothes probably 10 times a day. She has had problems with her speech development. She is improving greatly and I think someday you'll never know she had it. She has the greatest attitude though. It doesn't phase her at all. She is patient and will repeat things several times or show you what she's trying to say. She tells stories and jokes and has so much self confidence. She reminds me so much of my dad. She smiles a lot and doesn't care what any one else thinks, she thinks she's great! She is beautiful and I love being her mom.

Bear is 3 1/2 and 100% boy. He plays swords and gunfights. He loves to pretend he's a power ranger, turtle, or pirate. He also loves to dress up. He loves to rough house with daddy. He is so tough. He is as tall as Savannah, weighs more than both girls and has bigger feet than Gracie. He is going to be a monsterously big man. He is a big teddy bear. He loves Disneyland. He would go there everyday if it were up to him. He is my biggest helper. He loves to help me with dishes and laundry. At church he tries to help the men put up chairs or move tables. He is a builder. He loves legos and blocks. It's hard for me to believe that such a big loveable kid grew within my womb. He is a mama's boy. He loves big hugs and kisses and cuddles. He is so handsome and I love to be his mom.

Gunnar is 19 months. He is typical baby of a family. He is spoiled and demanding. He is kind of a tempermental kid right now. He throws tantrums if he doesn't get his way. He is very determined. He is such a climber. All of our kitchen and dining room chairs stay on the tables so he can't climb up on them. He is trying so hard to keep up with the bigger kids. He is getting to be a really good talker and turning into a big boy. He has the sweetest laugh. He is also a mama's boy. He's not very friendly to strangers and likes me best. He makes the best facial expressions. It's hilarious and amazing the things he can do with his face. His cheeks are so kissable, I probably kiss him a thousand times a day. He is so handsome and I love to be his mom.

On this Mother's Day I am so thankful to be a mother. I'm thankful to have great kids and a wonderful husband to help me every step of the way. I love my life.
