We started a new tradition to our family. We let the kids take turns conducting our little scripture study meetings. That's really cute and fun. We always have an opening song and prayer, then scriptures then a closing song, ring around the rosies and we drop to family prayer. Then after prayer we have what we call "all hugs". Dwight wraps us all in a huge family hug. Things have been kind of stressful around our house lately though and we needed a reminder of all of our blessings. So after our closing song, we are taking a turn at "I'm thankful for". Everyone shares something that they are thankful for that day. The kids have really cute things they are thankful for and it has been a good reminder for our family of our many blessings.
Gracie is very serious and spiritual. She is always thankful for something very profound like the gospel or her family.
Savannah is most thankful for Kermit the Frog because she wants to marry him. : )
Bear is thankful for any super heroes, Indianna Jones, Kung Fu Panda, and Buzz Lightyear. Such a typical boy.
Gunnar is too little to say, but I know he is thankful for Monsters Inc. and his mommy. Those are the two most important things in life right now.
Dwight cried the other night as he expressed how grateful he is for his children and for me. He is such a good daddy.
I try to find some sort of way that the Lord has touched our life that day. I want my kids to know that the Lord touches our lives everyday. Sometimes I'm just thankful we made it through the day without any trips to the emergency room! But, I am always most thankful for the gospel and for my eternal family.
