The Note

Yesterday morning as I got in the van to run errands with the kids I noticed a newspaper under my windshield wiper. After I loaded the kids I took the newspaper out. I turned it over and there was a yellow post it note attached. I realized it was our Latter Day Trumpet. It's a local LDS newspaper with local and world wide church news. Anyways, the post it note attached was a really mean note written by one of our neighbors. Apparently it had been placed in their mail instead of ours. I guess with the recent elections and our participation in Prop 8, our views are really out there for everyone to see. This neighbor was really upset by our mail in their house. I won't repeat what the note read, but it wasn't nice the jist was that we are losers and freaks and to stay away from them. Whoever they are. It made me really sad. With the uproar from the no on prop 8 supporters here in California and all of their horrible statements about the church I just feel really attacked lately. Last night our cat came home soaked in gasoline, which my husband says is totally unrelated, but I can't help but think that someone is being mean to us for our beliefs. I think we are really misunderstood. We as a family, are really just trying to live the best lives we can. We are trying to teach our kids right from wrong. I guess now is a time that we will have to take a stand. The note I guess was just a reminder to me. I'm thankful to be a memeber of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I know that it is the true church with the fully restored gospel. I'm so thankful for that knowledge and the happiness that it brings to my life. I hope someday my unknown neighbor will understand.

wow you win! that is so sad...I cant tell you how many times our signs got stolen etc. My dads corvette got keyed because he has a yes on 8 sign on the window, he had pickiters out in front of his office because he had yes on 8 signs on his business property. He has at least 5 hate mails a day that come into his office or business email and has been turned into the gay and lesbian sight not to do business with his company...all because he had a yes on 8 sign on his own property. What ever happened to freedom of speech?!

Our world is getting scarier and scarier. Come live in AZ by me, our prop 102 passed and we did not have nearly as much mean people here.
