Something hit me tonight as I watched a video for family home evening. We were watching the documentary about the Reflection of Christ exhibit. Mark Mabry the photographer who was at the head of this project said that as he was thinking of the birth of Christ , he wanted to really point out Joseph a little more. That he believed he had to be one of the most elect men in the worlds history, since it was he who was going to help raise the Son of God.
I thought about it and looked at my own children, my sons and my daughters. And saw them as children of our Heavenly Father. It hit me hard , I thought of all the things I could do better as a father. I want to be the best father I can be. I think that is what a child of God deserves.
Then I read this quote from a talk by President Gordon B Hinkley.
"How much more beautiful would be the world and the society in which we live if every father looked upon his children as the most precious of his assets, if he led them by the power of his example in kindness and love, and if in times of stress he blessed them by the authority of the holy priesthood; and if every mother regarded her children as the jewels of her life, as gifts from the God of heaven, who is their Eternal Father, and brought them up with true affection in the wisdom and admonition of the Lord. "
My children are the jewels of my life, my Wife is the brightest of all my blessings. I am grateful for the glimpse of how Heavenly Father sees all of us. We are his jewels .. His work and his glory.
I am grateful for these little moments where I can have a glimpse of what Heavenly Father sees in all of us.
