Weekend Fun

Because I was going to spend 13 hours away on Saturday for Youth Conference we decided to skip date night and spend Friday night with our kiddos doodles. We took them to dinner @ Native New Yorker. They have super yummy delicous wings and good American food. Then we took them to see Mega Mind in Imax 3d. It was their first time going to an Imax movie. They loved it. The movie wasn't quite what I was expecting but so very good. I love kids movies that are enjoyable for mom and dad too! Then we ended our evening with a delicous treat from Cold Stone. So so fun.

While I was @ Youth Conference Dwight and the kids had a fun Saturday as well. They went to the gym in the morning, then Grimaldi's for lunch and a trip to the Disney Store for a toy. Spoiled kids!
Youth Conference is different here. Only one day. I was there from 7am to 7pm when the 12 and 13 year olds left. The older kids then had a dance. I am Beehive Advisor here in our ward and I LOVE it. They had a rotation in the morning of different classes. "Knowing who you Are" a personality class, "Music 101" the influence of music in our lives, "Dating 101" preparing for dating and dating smart for an eternal marriage, "Spiritual Self Deffense" how to protect ourselves from the world and "Service" writing letters to missionaries and service men and women. The classes were really good. Then we had lunch. Then another rotation within your colored teams with lots of team building excercises. Then an afternoon of seriously fun competitive minute to win in style games. SOOOO fun! Then dinner and closing remarks from a memeber of our Stake Presidency. The theme was USC, University of the Strong and Courageous. It was a great day. I am sad though that these youth don't get to experience Youth Conference the way we do it in California for several days. It was very similar to things we would have done there just super shortened. I'm thankful that I am in Young Women's again and that I get the benefit of their activities to remind me and strengthen my testimony.
