Girl's camp

Girl's Camp was different for me this year than any other I have gone. This is my fourth year going as an adult and I went 5 years as a young woman. This year though, we did serious tent camping. We were there from Tuesday to Saturday. No showers!!!!! Lots of baby wipes. :) We only had porta potties. YUCK! We even had to cook our own food. We had a camp stove though. No fires allowed. That all said I did have a great time. I totally bonded with my oh so fabulous girls! I will say though, that it can be just as testimony building and fabulous in a CABIN!!!!!
Megan and I hiked 6 miles. I did this 6 mile hike two days with different aged girls.

 Sister Shumway, the other leader

It was so windy!!! I was so dirty!!!! But, my girls were great!!! I had a lot of fun. Our theme this year was from world wide youth theme from the 13th article of faith We Seek. Every ward chose something that they seeked after. We used a quote from Bonnie D. Parkin  If we are seeking the Lord and His guidance, if our direction is to return to our Father in Heaven, the sweet moments will come.
We decorated with candy and I made cute sweet t-shirts with cupcakes and lollipops. The blue ones above. I am thankful for the opportunity that I had to go. I missed my little family. I was thankful that my hubby drove us up and helped us set up camp and then came to pick us up. I have a testimony of girls camp and the difference that it can make in these girls lives. I love my young women and I love serving them and having fun with them.
