Our family rule is that you can have your ears pierced when you are 8. There's no particular reason really except that it seems like an age where you are responsible enough to clean and care for them. I had my ears pierced when I was 8. Gracie had her pierced on her 8th birthday. Savannah wanted to wait, she wasn't so sure about the whole thing. But, she came around. A few weeks ago she decided she wanted to have her ears pierced. She has really sensitive skin, so I was a little worried about it. We decided to get the 14k gold posts to reduce the risk of infection. She has done great. She is very responsible and cleans them twice a day. She hasn't had any problems. She is so excited to be able to wear different earrings. I love her.
