7 days oh my!!!!

I missed a day, so I will be thankful for two things today.

8 days to go: Yesterday I had to go pick up some prescriptions at Target. My MRI showed I had a sinus infection :( No wonder I have been feeling yucky on top of yucky. Anyways, while we waited for the prescription to be filled we ate a little lunch at Target. My boy is my side kick. He is so sweet and wonderful and I will be so incredibly devastated when he goes to kinder next year. Who will eat lunch with me while I wait for my prescription? Who will run errands with me? I will feel so alone. I panicked a minute thinking about this. So, I made a plan. Each week I will pull one of my sweet kiddos out to go to lunch with me. Then they will each get to go out on a lunch date with mommy once a month and I will have a lunch date once a week. Whew, crisis averted for a minute. Anyways, back to my sweet boy, he told me the sweetest thing the other day as we walked home from the bus, I will always remember it and it so completely melted me. This is our conversation:

Gunnar: Mommy?
Me: Yes handsome?
Gunnar: When you get old I am going to take care of you.
Me: What????
Gunnar: When you get old I am going to take care of you.
Me: That is so sweet of you my boy.
Gunnar: (with big smiles) yep, and my kids are going to love you so much, and they will give you lots of hugs and kisses and they will let you tickle them.
Me: I will love that!!!!!! (melting, melting, melting)

I hope he doesn't have to ever take care of me, but what a sweet and wonderful thing for a 5 year old to think about. He later told me about how his wife will make me dinner too. Note to Gunnar's future wife: I will not burden you. :)

Lunch at Target
7 days to go: I started in on my lunch plan today. I just had this overwhelming feeling that I needed to get my Gracie for lunch today. The feeling wouldn't go away. So, off I went to grab my girl for lunch. She was sooo surprised. I let her pick. We went to the mall for pizza at Grimaldi's and then got some gelato at Frost in our favorite local mall. It was delicious and so fun. She told me all about what she's been reading lately. She is such a smart girl. She recently read "Little Women". We talked about her upcoming birthday. She is dying for roller skates. :) Then I hugged her and kissed her and sent her back to class. It made me happy.
