December 1st

Can you believe that December has come? December 1st here is rainy. I am melancholy. I watched this and feel a little better. I am going to dig out some Christmas decorations today. First on my list are my nativities. We are starting a couple of advent calendars today too. We have a Toy Story one and a Charlie Brown one. We have one that has a scripture everyday. We are making a big green paper tree and placing an ornament on it each day with something written about the Savior on it (idea from the Friend magazine). I have been thinking about ways to remind my children the reason for the season. I am going to use ideas from this to teach them.  We went a bought a real tree a couple of days ago. It smells divine. Dwight and the kids decorated it. We have a candy cane tree this year.  I am excited for this magical time of year. To watch the joy in my kids faces as they experience the holiday season. I know this is a hard time of year for people who are experiencing hardship. I want to be just a little bit more aware of the people around me and try to help just a little bit. For now though I am going to snuggle with my boy on the couch and watch Mickey Mouse. Merry Christmas!
