God, who is our home

I'm doing laundry today, cleaning house, finishing the Christmas decorating, babysitting my nephew and I am a procrastinator so I haven't yet started my 2400 word paper and 15 page power point that is do for my University of Phoenix course tonight at midnight.  We stayed up too late and I am dragging. My hubby is working from home. This morning after I walked the kids to the bus I laid on the couch for an hour or so with my sweet little Gunnar boy who brought me 3 big blankets. The puppy woke me up with lot of kisses on my face. My hubby is singing for his sister's funeral this weekend and he is practicing and deciding what to sing. It is nice to hear his voice as I do my chores. It made me think of this beautiful life I get to be a part of and what happens after it.

The other day I flipped open the book "A Marvelous Work and a Wonder" by Legrand Richards. It's part of the missionary reference library, one of the few books that missionaries can read while they are serving in the field. I opened to a section where in bold print it says, "Death  Marks Man's Return to the World of Spirits." It talks about how we we lived with our Father in Heaven before we came to this earth and therefore will be returning to him. It is part of the plan. This beautiful poem was included

Our birth is but a sleep and a forgetting;
The soul that rises with us, our life's Star,
Hath had elsewhere its setting,
And cometh from afar:

Not in entire forgetfulness,
And not in utter nakedness,
But trailing clouds of glory do we come
From God, who is our home:

I especially love the last line that say that God is our home. Then I watched this. I am thankful for the knowledge that I have that our Father in Heaven has a plan for us. That we will be together again and with him.
