The kids had been instructed not to go downstairs. We knew they would peek and we knew they would wake us up early. Around 6:45 they started knocking on our door. They were anxious and we could hear them running around the hall upstairs. We shewed them away several times telling them we weren't ready to get up yet. Finally, just before 8 o'clock we headed downstairs. Oh, the magic and fun of Christmas morning with children. It was tremendous fun. The kids got everything they asked for and then some. It was a very blessed Christmas morning. We had cinnamon rolls and hot chocolate and lounged in our footy jammies checking out all of our new gifts. Then the men constructed a ginger bread house for our annual firework show. They made it from scratch this year with real cookies that the kids and I made. It was a great boom and exciting for the kids! We picked up our favorite Italian food from Oregano's the night before. :) I'm still exhausted from Thanksgiving. We had a great day!
At Christmas time we talk a lot about belief and it really made me think this year. There are some people who question everything. People who need proof of everything. People who want to prove things wrong and make other people question their belief. I'm so thankful to have children with believing hearts. They hear the bells ring. They feel the spirit easily and believe in things that they can't always see, but that they can feel. Belief is a blessing. It brings added happiness and joy to life. Belief brings hope. We have so many reasons to believe in so many good things. One reason is the magic of the beautiful season of Christmas. When everyone is a little nicer to one another. When we slow down and think of others. I'm thankful for this beautiful time of year, when we can reflect on the life of Christ. We celebrate his birth and remember that his sacrifice provides us with the opportunity to return to our Father in Heaven. We believe.
