We went camping!!!!!

We went camping over the weekend in Payson, AZ. It's about an hour and a half away from our home. It's incredible the way the landscape changes in AZ. You go from brown desert with a few cactus to beautiful red rock and then to the beautiful forest area. This was our first family camping trip. I loved it. It took a lot of convincing to get my hubby to take us. :) I think he enjoyed it though and that we'll go again. The kids LOVED it. I was really surprised at how well they did. They even slept in their own kids tent. They slept very comfortably and I was so happy they had a good experience. We did a little hike, roasted hot dogs for dinner, made smores by the campfire, drank hot chocolate, and shared family time with no interruptions. I completely loved it. I'm excited to go again.

I'll admit I was a little bit nervous about the bears. We were in known bear country. The ranger told us that there hadn't been a bear sighting in the camp ground for about 2 months. That didn't seem quite long enough ago to me. I was a little jumpy. :) The scariest thing we saw was a huge spider. :)
