We started back to our home school routine today. It seems horrible to start school in August, but it seems easier for us to follow the routine of the local schools.
It's good to have routines. We got up early and read scriptures with daddy before he left to work. The kids ate breakfast. I convinced myself to get out of bed and we started school.around 7:45. We did math, language arts, spelling, reading comprehension, writing, history, and some life skills.
I grocery shopped while the kids had lunch and a break.
Then the kids worked in the back yard, cleaned house, and Gracie sewed little blankets for my angel baby service project.
My kids writing assignments today were so creative and made me chuckle. Gracie wrote about a homeless man who loved to sing. He fell in love and got married and eventually reached his dream of being an opera singer. ;) Savannah wrote about a girl named Margaret. She lived in France but moved to America. She became a famous movie star. Bear wrote about his favorite breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Gunnar drew a picture of the kids swimming and wrote a sentence about how swimming is his favorite thing in the summer.
I LOVE spending the day with my kiddos.
After dinner (spaghetti) we had family home evening. We've created new work charts and allowance goals. My kiddos are saving up for Disneyland souvenirs. ;)
It was an incredibly busy, incredibly, productive, incredibly blessed day!
I love my little family!
