A little Stress and a New School!!!!!

OK, so I'll admit it, I kind of lost it today. :) Back in November the lady who cut my hair told me about this charter school in Menifee. I thought it sounded really good and that I would check it out. I called and set up an appointment for a parent information meeting. Well, they didn't have any until this week, Jan 19th. I went excited about a new oppurtunity but not really expecting them to have openings for my 3 school age children and not really wanting to make any changes until next school year. To my surprise they had openings on the White Track(the one i wanted) for all three of my kids. I was so impressed by the principal and the school and their values. They have three tracks. One that is totally home schooling, one that is full time school, and one that is two days a week at school and three days a week at home. The part time school, part time home is exactly what I have been looking for. The enrollment lady put me on the list gave me three registration packets, told me I had to have all the paperwork back by Thursday (that's tomorrow) and the kids would start school Tuesday. My head was spinning. HELLO. That only gave me a day to decide if I was doing this. So here goes we are jumping. We had to go into the OC today to get my kids immunization records and Savannah's birth certificate because some how Savannah's file is missing in action. I don't know I was just stressing out. It was pooring cats and dogs and I have to have all the paperwork in tomorrow or they lose their spots. This school has some serious waiting lists, so that there were spots for all my kids was amazing and Gracie is filling the last 2nd grade spot for the white track. BTW the red track and blue tracks, totally full in my kids grades. Anyways, I had a melt down when my hubby didn't want to drive out and get the paper work today. Long story short we went and I recovered, so sorry poor hubby. :)
I still have to turn in my paper work tomorrow, but fingers crossed that everything goes right, especially since I already withdrew them from CAVA we are going to be attending Santa Rosa Academy. It is a charter school based out of Menifee. It is amazing. It's located behind the Mt San Jacinto College campus. They are required to wear uniforms and they have amazing values. The kids are expectedto have good manners and they are super conservative. The girls are even excused to recess first before the boys. It's a small school, but growing and has some really cool programs. You can graduate high school with your associates degree and as a high school student all college courses are free. So, anyways, I am super hopeful and really excited. The downside for me is that the White track is in Wildomar. So two days a week I will drive 25 miles to take my kids to school. But, they will be there from 8:30 to 2:00, which is crazy freedom for me. My kids are super excited to go to "real" school and I hope and pray that I am making the right choice and that everything works out good. If not, we can always go back to CAVA.

That was not that long A. And, I honestly think that it sounds like a perfect opportunity for you and your kids. It will give them and you a break, but let you still keep the majority of control. Well done, and I am sure you will be happy about it in the long run.
