Update on My Mom and Patty

If you haven't read my post below you might want to start there.

So, what was already a long and hard day definelty did not get any better.

My mom and I spent the entire night in the Emergency Room. It was horribly crowded and slow. It took several hours for each step. We were there 12 hours. From 6:30 in the evening to 6:30 in the morning. I was soooo tired and soooo uncomfortable. My alarm to get up this morning @ 6:40 went off and I hadn't slept yet. I 'm pretty sure that is the longest I have ever stayed up. The good news is that my Mom is well. She has lymphodema. It's fluid in the lymphnodes. It's common after breast cancer and especially after having lymphnodes removed. We will follow up with her primary care doctor. Hopefully the swelling will go down on its own, but if not she may have to have it drained or use compression bandages. Hopeful that it will go down on its own.

My mom and I went to see Patty today after getting a few hours of sleep. She is doing quite well and I am so relived now that we know exactly what it going on. She has pretty much the exact same thing as bear. An infection in her finger with group A strep. Doctor yesterday was wrong, no MRSA. Yay!!! She also has strep throat. So, tomorrow they will do an incision and drainage and she will stay in the hospital for a few days for antibiotics. She is doing well in the hospital and loves the hospital food. :) She has a menu she gets to call down and order from. I brought her books and her scriptures. She is a happy camper in the hospital for a few days.

My mom and I had a really hard night in the emergency room.I so love my mom. After waiting so long surrounded by people and so uncomfortable, we were taken back to wait for some tests. As we waited for the nurse to do her IV we were sat in a little waiting area all by ourselves. Our first minutes of peace and quiet. The room was dimly lit and we sat in chairs that lined a wall just a curtain in front of us seperating us from other patients waiting. My mom held my hand. With little tears in her eyes she told me how proud she is of me, that I'm a great wife and mother. That she is so thankful to know that I will take care of her and my Aunt Patty. With little tears in my eyes I told her that I love her. I am trullly grateful for my mother. All that she taught me and sacrificed for me. She taught me not only through her words but also her actions.

Today it is a beautiful day. My hubby and kiddos cleaned house while I went to see Patty. My stress is slowly coming down. I have a happy life. A beautifully blessed, happy life!!!!
