At the beautiful Los Angeles temple (which I miss with an ache in my heart) there are some little statues outside the visitors center. On one side they are all of women. They have a scripture to go with them and maybe some of them you can push a button and it will read the scripture to you I think. They show women at different stages of life. All beautiful. They depict the sacred honored roll of women as wives and mothers. This is my favorite favorite one. Joyful Moment. We used to always do ring around the rosie before prayer at night and when we all fell down we would pray. We will have to do it again. I have so many joyful moments because of my children. They are trully "an heritage of the Lord"
My kiddos lately:
Gracie:
We picked up her new glasses yesterday. They are so cute on her. I made the mistake of telling her that bifocals are for old people. Oops. :) She was so worried that she was going to be made fun of. Dwight explained to her that they are for people who have two problems with their eyes. I assured her repeatedly that no one would even notice they were bifocals. They are so darn cute on her. She cried a little and said she was sad that she had problems with her eyes. I hugged her and told her how I'm jealous because I want to wear glasses and don't even need them for reading yet. Someday I'm going to have super cute glasses like her. She is so good and sweet, so smart. She is a great friend and super popular with her peers. I love her and she brings me so many Joyful Moments.
Savannah:
Savannah is by far my best behaved child. She has the strongest desire to be obedient. She does not want to make any mistakes and is so thoughtful before she does things to make sure it is the right thing. She tends to be a little nervous and slow to try new things. She mothers her brothers endlessly and I have to remind her to let me do my job. She is a great student and puts 100% effort in her work. Her speech has improved so much that I don't think people here would even guess the struggle she had learning to talk. She LOVES her Daddy, but she is totally my mini me. She is a bundle of Joyful Moments.
Bear:
Bear is such a funny boy. He has been getting in trouble at home lately. He is sneaky. Most of the time it involves some sort of food. He makes decisions based completly on his appetite. Like his Daddy he LOVES movies. It's all he thinks about (besides food). He cries when he has to go anywhere because he would rather stay home and watch a movie. He is the only 6 year old boy I know who cries when their mother wants to let him play at the park. He LOVES his mommy. He has been pretending that he is too big for me to sing to him @ bedtime and he will pretend that he isn't listening. But, the other night I told him if he's too big I just won't sing and he cried for me to sing. Then he pretended he wasn't listening. :) Then he gave me his endless butterfly kisses. He brings me Joyful Moments.
Gunnar:
Because he is the only one home is gets lots of mommy time. He LOVES mommy. I tell him he is MY Gunnar and he will tell Dwight "I am Mommy's Gunnar". He is my snuggle bug. He is my helper. He is my baby. I can't tell him that though because he does not like to be called a baby. He loves to play in the sand at the park. He loves Toy Story and Cars. He loves to sing to me. (See video below) He is a Joyful Moment.
I am so thankful to be a wife and mother. To know that because we are sealed in the temple we can be together forever. I believe. I love my Joyful Moments.
