Our New Year's Adventures

Our New Year's tradition this year came a day late due to my tooth issues, but a day late was so worth the wait. I look forward to New Year's day all year, it's one of my favorite days of the year. We always go to Dwight's favorite bbq place, The Bear Pit. They have Missouri style bbq. Their bbq sauce is to die for. While we were there the girls went to the potty and when they came back Savannah said she had peed her pants, but just a little. :) She cracks me up. You will notice in the pictures her little bit of peed pants. he he. Dwight wanted me to crop it out, but I love that it is part of our New Year's adventure this year. Then we headed to Western Bagel just up the road. It's the corporate head quarters and they always have super fresh bagels made right there. This year Bear and I got to go in the back and see where they were cooking and sorting bagels. (bathroom stop) So Cool! I had a delicous chocolate chip bagel. Yum Yum! Then we headed over to the Los Angeles temple. The lights were gorgeous this year! I think way more lights than last year. The visitors center is still under construction. Then we drove through Beverly Hills, where the kids were looking for their favorite stars. Especially, Savannah, searching like crazy for Jim Carrey. She is a huge Dr. Seuss fan and LOVES the Grinch. Then we drove through Hollywood where Bear says he is going to live someday. My kids all have aspirations to be rock stars and movie stars and to be somehow famous. :) Then we stopped at Mel's Drive In. We don't always go there, but we were ready for a delicous treat and have been a few times before on New Years. It is a really cool place to stop and eat, there are a lot of movies filmed there. Everyone had milkshakes except for me who opted for a warm beverage, hot chocolate instead. Then we headed home totally stuffed and totally exhausted. I love New Year's. I love my beautiful family. I'm thankful for our health and all our many blessings. Here's to a very Happy New Year!!!
